2008-2009: Coordinator for Germany for the REMC research Group (‘Religious Education in a Multicultural Society. School and Home in Comparative Context’) of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Union.

2008- : Participant in the ROTh research Group ‘Religionsunterricht als Ort der Theologie” [Religious Education as ‘locus theologicus’] of the Universities of Bochum, Dortmund and Duisburg-Essen.

2008- : Chair of the research project Inter-FIRE (‚International Forum for Inclusive Religious Education’) at the TU Dortmund. The inaugural lecture for the ‘Lehrstuhl für Katholische Theologie und ihre Didaktik mit dem Schwerpunkt Religionsdidaktik’ at Dortmund University, Germany (21st of May 2008), which is a first contribution to this project, has been published in the Comenius Institute and can be found here.

2008- : Involvement in the project IK-KS (‚Interdisciplinair Kenniscentrum voor Kerk en Samenleving’), which explores creative and innovative ways of doing practical theological and social-scientific research in local congregations in Flanders.
